Today was a "No Stitching Day". Instead DH and I went into Melbourne to the Regent Theatre in Collins Street to see West Side Story. The tickets for this show were a special gift to us from my dear Lil Sis and her hubby (fondly known by me, as Mr Meagoo) when they visited us from the UK last November. We have been eagerly awaiting this day to come and we were not disappointed.
Anyone who knows Melbourne...or perhaps I should really say, does not know Melbourne that well...will understand that parking is always a bit of a worry...Happy to say that we had no problems..(Thank Goodness) and found great parking in a street immediately behind the theatre.
Arriving in plenty of time ,we had the chance to have a bit of a wander and window shop in the immediate area...(Not a patchwork, sewing , or craft shop to be seen !!!!!!)..but there were heaps of shops to satisfy my second hobby..."eating", so we were able to have lunch before heading for the Theatre.

The show itself was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of it..The Orchestra and the set were brilliant. The cast was awesome..The voices of Maria and Tony were fabulous...The dancers were spectacular...with a special mention of the acting/dancing/singing talent of Anita ( Bernado's wife)...In a word WOW !!
I did want to show you a picture of the inside of the theatre which has in recent years been re modelled...but has still kept the feel of yesteryear...However,while i was in the process of just my first photo of the magnificent chandelier with its sculptured ceiling...I was caught in action and politely told that photographs were prohibited in the theatre...ooops....so, "sorry"...we missed out on that one..
Thank you so much to my Lil Sis and Mr M for this special day....xx

Just to show you that I could not be away from my Hexagons for long...I spotted this retaining wall as we passed under a bridge on the way into the city. Not a brilliant photo as were were moving but guess you get the idea...
Better get back to stitching now...Hope you are all having a great weekend...
Take care
Until we meet again
