Greetings from a Sunny Melbourne , where today we are expecting 18C..not warm by any means but a nice change from the cold and wet days we have had this winter.
There are many parts of our great state of Victoria, that are, as I write, devastated by severe flooding. Our hearts go out to those that have been affected over the past few days, and also to the many people who are still facing the threat of what still may happen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all`
We must not forget our neighbours in Christchurch New Zealand affected by the earthquake that has struck them...and I have just heard on the radio that they are continuing to get aftershocks,Take care everyone.
Because it is dry today I was able to take this photo on one of our new bushes. The one on the right is just for a bit of fun.I have done it in my football teams colours...The Mighty Saints....St Kilda Football Club..DH is not impressed as it is not his club...and wants to know where his club colours are ??? I am not sure that I want navy and white on my GFQ....(lol)
Hexie Madness..
I did warn you that i had found out how addictive hexies are and also how contagious...DD has been infected with the bug and last Sunday being Fathers Day here in Australia...she came with a present and look at the paper she bought,,,,!!!!!!! Hmmmmm..
Look what I found in the Op Shop this week
A Willow pattern Soup Tureen..
Now I need to look for its matching ladle.
A very old recipe book which just cried out for me to take it home and let it rest among my other books...It has some very old recipes and tips in it....I couldn't help myself....just had to...
Last but not least....
Today I just had to visit my LQS....(to pick something up for DD) and while there decided I would try one of the stitcheries...((Could not walk out the shop empty handed now could I?)) I have never done one like this before so please wish me luck.
If I don't mess it up I will post a pic when it is finished...
Hope everyone has had a good week...I am off now to look at some of your gardens.
Until next time
Take Care
Kate x

ReplyDeleteHi Kate - I love how you have posed your hexie flowers in the bush - very realistic!! Take care, as stitcheries are just as addictive as hexagons.......! My son and wife are arriving in Melbourne today - driven over from Perth - shifting states to be closer to NZ.
ReplyDeleteKate, what a fun photo to showcase your progress this week and I love the hexagon wall you found alongside the road.
