Flowers and more

My Favorite Hibiscus

I do hope that every one had a lovely Easter....and that the chocolates did not do too much damage to the waistline...It certainly didn't damage mine....I have not got one...!!!!!!. :)

The Sun is shining this morning and here in Melbourne it is a beautiful Autumn Morning...I was out walking my 2 furry babies earlier this morning and it was a real pleasure.

One day last week we were out for a drive and I just happened to stop by a favorite Quilt shop.....Well...!!!! I could not drive straight by now could I? so went in and just bought a little selection.

And so....THIS became THESE 4 new flowers for my Hexigarden .I have been"planting my flowers " into my garden this past week and now have 27 of my 3/4 inch flowers blooming.

I have a total now of 131 flowers made. Estimate I need 255
Every flower is different...Hope I can go the distance..!!!

One Flower Wednesday is a great group to belong to and is Kindly hosted by the lovely Karen at Journey of a Quilter. Why not pop over and have a look round We may meet up?

Until next time...take care

Happy Stitching

One Flower Wednesday

Greetings everyone from a cool and damp Melbourne...we have had a fair bit of rain this week again but as I write the sun is trying very hard to peep through...It is Autumn and I guess we must prepare ourselves for some cooler weather..but could it perhaps wait until everyone that is going away for Easter has had some good weather to tide them over winter? I should be saying ,,"Here we are again..for another One Flower Wednesday " BUT today is now in fact THURSDAY....so sorry I am late...will try to get a wriggle on next week. This week I have managed to make 3 new Hexie flowers for my Garden. These are 3/4 inch (0r .75cm)...I particularly liked the fabric I found, that had the little doves on it...thought it was cute..It just goes to show we don't know what we have in our stash until we go digging...!!! If you would like to visit other Hexie Flower Gardens please visit Karen at Journey of a Quilter There are many Hexie Gardens to visit...

OP SHOP FIND -I would like to show you this pretty dish that I have found.. It is stamped Made in Staffordshire England...I just loved it,,,It is a simple design yet very pretty,,and the pink edges just add the finishing touch..I tried very hard to ignore it but it kept saying "Buy Me" so i did :) Next Question...what shall I use it for ???? At the moment I have it on My dressing table to hold my watch etc at night..

Audio Book

I have Just been to the library and this is the Audio book I will be listening to in the next few days while sewing...It is called Days of Hope by Lyn Andrews and is a tale of Post war life in Liverpool.

I am also an avid E reader and have just finished a book called "The Badness of King George"....It was about a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named George..Being owned by two cavaliers myself, this was something close to my heart..Any dog lover would enjoy this book as it was about fostering rescue dogs..

Movies

As anyone seen the movie "Oranges and Sunshine" yet ? Believe it was released in UK on April 1st...I would be very interested in your comments as i have read the book that the film is taken from.."Empty Cradles" by Margaret Humphreys

I do hope that you are all well and happy and that you have a great week stitching ..

Until we meet again

Take care

I am Back

Greetings everyone from a beautiful Autumn morning here in Melbourne, where we are expecting a top temperature around 25C .

I have been absent from blogging for a few weeks - nothing major was wrong, just other commitments having to take priority..I hope that now i will soon be able to get back on track...i have missed the contact i have with my blogging buddies.

To ease me back into the swing of things..I will start with One Flower Wednesday..

A garden party kindly hosted by Karen at Journey of A Quilter...

I have made 3 more 3/4 inch Hexie flowers for my garden...up to now every one is different..and now have a running total of 125 flowers made...

I really think my photographic skills leave a lot to be desired...the two outer flowers are actually a salmon colour but here they appear pink...???? Gremlins in the camera ???

My other Hexie Flower Project is the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap...This swap is hosted by Jane who has put so much work into developing the swap...

This beautiful February Hexie flower and this lovely card was sent to me from Marina a fellow Victorian.Thank you so much Marina...It was a joy to receive. xx

My March swapping Buddy was Isabella from Tasmania , who sent me not one, but TWO beautiful Hexie Flowers in colours that I love together with a really cute card with (Guess?) yes Teddies,,,,Thank you so much Bella...Love them all..xx

My Hexie Flower was sent to my March Swap Partner..in the USA. Because I was running a little late at this stage I will not name her as she may not have even received it yet... but I do hope the colours are what she asked for...

I do hope that where ever you are you are all well and happy and until we meet again

"Take care"
