Greetings from a very cold and wet Melbourne, where our daytime temperature the past two days has struggled to reach 11C...Brrrrr !!!!! I know that I should not grumble about
the rain as we so desperately need it.....BUT...I could not go outside and take a photo of my new blooms..There has been some quite reasonable growth with the addition of a further SEVEN flowers this week. I am feeling that as addicted as I am to making these colourful blooms, I may have to start adding some background hexies to them, because the thought of working in just white at the end is just too much,,,What do others think? Do you do the background as you go along or do you wait until you have finished all your blooms?

Do you do the background as you go along or do you wait until you have finished all your blooms? As we turn into July, I have been more aware of the amount of Pre -Christmas Craft preparations that are happening on line.So many clever people out there with many great ideas...Hmmm,,,will I "have a go" at some of their projects?
I am not so sure....I am waiting on 2 deliveries...One of them are books that I have ordered on line with free delivery and if I am satisfied with their service I will tell you more about them next time.
The other thing is my Birthday pressie from my DH. I am so excited about this but will keep you guessing until it arrives.
Until next time
Take care
Lovely flowers!!!! and oh how I wish I had your weather! high 90's, reaching 100 here and 98% humidity! :(
ReplyDeleteI do my blooms first and then the bkgrd., but then have some that I'm working on in Civil war (have put aside for now to do my I SPY) that I do both at the same time..
Love the hexie flowers Kate. Gorgeous colours. Glad tou joined us. :) Jeanette
ReplyDeleteSeven pretty flowers Kate! If I was you I think I would start adding the border. All that white at the end would be too much.
ReplyDeletePretty flowers. They also look great in your house ;-)
ReplyDeleteKate, Your flowers are so pretty and congratulations on getting so many done ! So far I have just been making the flowers not adding any borders as I have yet to decide what I plan on doing with them but I still can't stop myself from making more ;-0 I may applique mine on blocks .Somewhere I seen a sweet quilt that had them appliqued in a basket and they looked adorable so I may just do that ,time will tell . How cold does it get , that is not considered cold where I live ;-)

your flowers are lovely Kate. I have started putting backgrounds on my flowers and I'm glad I did - it takes a lot longer than I thought it would do!
