An Early Morning Wake Up Call.

I was in a lovely deep sleep...you know the sort, where you are nice and warm and cozy, despite it being very cold outside. It has been the Queens Birthday Weekend here in Victoria and today, Monday,is a public holiday and that means we can have a bit of a sleep in....right?

WRONG! From somewhere in the distance the alarm clock was making one heck of a noise. It was getting louder and louder until I finally realised that I was awake, and not dreaming....

I grabbed the clock and automatically looked at the time as I switched the alarm off.....WHAT !!!!!! 4.15 am... Oh yes....and then I remembered...it was this morning that the Socceroos were playing Germany in their round of the World Cup and Dear Hubby wanted to watch it.!!!!

I had been very vocal last night,,,"Go Socorroos, Go Go Go ".so I was, like all the other supporters, a bit upset over the final score of 4 -0 to Germany. But all is not lost and the Socorroos will continue with their Campaign..the first being this coming Sunday (at a better time as well) so once again "Go Socorroos"...

Not a lot to report on the quilting front.....

My Hexagons are slow going, but I am loving them...I have made myself a little catalogue of the fabrics as i use them,to make it easier in my search for different fabrics from my stash.I was able to get hold of a Card folder which appears to be just the job.....apologies to the Grandson who may have liked it also. Ooops!
I am not a good photographer so put the paper in with the hope of stopping the glare from the plastic inserts.

Earlier in the week in a group I belong to at Connecting Threads/Quilt with Us/EPP..a lady named Mary, kindly showed us her EPP box...I was very impressed and it appeared to be just the thing i was on the look out for in portability...It is in fact a fishing tackle box.

I was lucky enough to get one and set about making it suitable for my hexagons, papers etc.One section I stuffed with batting and covered with felt to make a pincushion. On the lid I made a needle pad and stuck it to the lid with double sided tape..I also have placed a snap lock bag to the right of it for *Work in Progress*I don't know if you can see the little doll also on the lid? My Granddaughter bought that for me from Queensland. It is a worry doll, and legend has it that if you whisper your worries to the doll and then tuck it under your pillow at night,,the next day your worries are gone...Well....I decided to keep mine in my sewing box,,,,I Will let you make your own mind up on that one.

On a final note i would like to share with you my find at the Op Shop this week...I think it is so appropriate not only to quilting but life in general On that note I will say "until next time"
