Thank You Sunny

I am so excited...I am over the moon...Look what the postman has just brought me...This is a fabric swap that I have just exchanged with Sunny at Quilting Dreams.

We discovered we both were working with similar coloured fabrics and because of the amount we need ( I am doing 3/4 inch Hexie flowers and Sunny 1/2 inch Hexies ) we agreed to swap some fabric to increase our variety of flowers. I am hoping to do everyone different.

Thank you so much Sunny...it was all beautiful....Now my garden will have some home grown American flowers,...Wow !!!!

At the moment I have 140 flowers made....I have 2 ideas in mind that I am working towards. If I do a lap quilt I will need approx 255 BUT if I continue on to a Queen size I will need approx 575...Hmm....It has taken me 12 months to make the 140.....Thoughts please..

Again a very big thank you to Sunny ...

Take care

Kate xx

  1. Great swap! I did the same with someone this time of the last year :) OMG, 140 flowers!? That's wonderful!! I'm making my 100th one very soon (Hopefully...) and thinking to need to make another 100 for sure to make a lap size. Mines are 1" hexies. Sounds like we will be a good friends for a long time making the flowers together ;)

  3. Wow, great idea to get more variety into your garden. I completed roughly 120 flowers (1-inch) in about 9 months or so and then started to assemble my quilt. It'll make a large lapsize quilt which is what I wanted. But I didn't estimate nor anticipate the amount of time attaching a border, etc. would take. I just completed the second row and I can tell you now that I'm really glad I didn't decide to make it any bigger. At this rate, it may take another year just to assemble...not to mention quilting it. I try not to think about it and just enjoy the process but I really want to see this one finished! That's my experience...for what it's worth.
