Despite being winter, it is a sunny day here in Melbourne...but it is with a heavy heart that I dedicate my blog this afternoon, to Ben, a family friend. We have just arrived home from his very touching funeral. He was a special man, who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The postman has brought me my latest book from The Book Depository - Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott ......Looking good !!
This week I have also started the big 'Clean Up" and hoping to get my fabric addiction into some sort of order...to get me motivated we bought these stacker drawers for the cupboard...Please wish me luck in my efforts...I will post my progress another time..
I do hope that you have all had a great week and that wherever you are you are well and happy.

Lovely flowers so prettily displayed.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Ben Kate. I think you are right, it is time to start stitching some of your flowers together, how beautiful that will be. Good luck with the clean up!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful! Love the colors. I too am slow at sewing them together - it's more fun to make the individual flowers - lol!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your organizational project.
Beautiful flowers and stunning background. Love it.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Ben. You flowers are beautiful, and I love the way you have them displayed.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours. Good luck organizing your fabric, mine are in piles on a shelf and don't stay separated by colour very well when I get rooting around. I like the idea of drawers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers Kate , pretty colors. Sorry about your friend and bet of luck in your organization .
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are looking great. I love those stacker drawers. I am sure your fabric will love its new home.
ReplyDeletelovely flowers they are accumulating well.
ReplyDeleteI hope the funeral was a celebration of your friends life even though it was sad.
Enjoy tidying your stash. A whole cupboard to yourself-lucky you.
Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend.
ReplyDeleteYour hexis are really lovely. I like the way you displayed them.
Good luck on your cleanup! I bought some boxes to organize, but haven't gotten too them yet!
Hello Kate! I am sorry to hear your friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny with hexies...when do you start sewing the hexies together? Sew all the flowers then sew them together? Since the hexies are my favorite part, I sew a few...then sew them into the group; then sew a few more hexies. It helps my attention span!! Otherwise, sewing the hexies all together would be too overwhelming for me!

So sorry to hear about your friend passing.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've showcased your flowers. The new jelly roll book looks like fun and you can never get too organized.
Love your fresh blooms! I was just looking at the stacker drawers a couple days ago while they were on sale, then had to really think about how many I need to throw all of my stash! lol So no purchase of them yet, but as seeing how many you have, I feel a bit comfortable now. (I think I will need as many as you got!)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have fun finding treasures as you reorganise your space :-). Your latest flowers look lovely against the silver bush. Just read back through your previous posts - it sounds like you had fun with your visitors - the QAYG hexie project sounds like another fun new challenge. Sorry to read about your family friend.
